In reply to Kelly Martin. I was so disappointed because I really expected to enjoy it. Every time it happens, I wonder if I'm crazy. Lol. But it is probably the fact that some books and/or media set me up with high expectations, and I'm even more disappointed than normal when the book doesn't live up to that expectation that has been built.

Oh wow, this sounds incredible! My husband and I are both BIG military history lovers. We even got engaged at an old military fort alongside one of the old cannons on display lol We both gravitate to military-themed books, movies, and television shows. I am DEFINITELY adding this to my must-read list for this summer. My only summer plans this year include floating in the pool and kicking back in my hammock at various campsites – both of which include reading a good book.

This sounds like an interesting book, though I am not sure it is one that would be on my list I generally lean towards fantasy books/novels. I appreciated reading the review on this!

While I am a great fan of your recipes, I am also a fan of your book reviews. Just because others say it is good I have noticed many a times that your review is entirely the opposite. Being honest is more important than agreeing with the masses. I too have felt many a times the same when it comes to movies or reviews. I also agree that the flow of a book keeps us engrossed and when you have to search the google for clarity, the charm goes out of the window for me.

That’s a very interesting premise for a book, definitely with a lot of fascinating historical background. It’s interesting that you disagree with the good reviews. Just goes to show how subjective reading is – someone might really love a story, while someone else doesn’t connect with it in the same way. That’s why I try to get lots of different opinions on my own work.
