Melodies of Humanity

Melodies of Humanity

Melodies of Humanity is the latest book to be checked off my to be read list. This is a collection of poetry from bestselling author Ann Marie Ruby. She is a repeat author in my blog, and for good reason. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read from her so far.

This is her 22nd published book, and I’m almost done reading all of them. I still find that I return to Spiritual Songs II quite often when I’m not feeling myself. It is always within reach. One of the things I’ve often admired about her books is that I can pick up one, open it to any page, and find exactly what I need at that moment. Her books speak to me, and it feels like a hug from my best friend.

About Melodies of Humanity

A sacred treasure chest filled with humanitarian poetry has arrived. Humanity, the golden key, is found within each poem as each poem is filled with eternal affection and benevolence. These poems will call on the inner sanctuaries of all humans. This book of humanitarian poetry will churn the Earth to eradicate all global humanitarian and societal issues.

Now you, my reader and I, your book in union shall undertake all the tribulations of the one human race today as I alert you of the problems first, not through a sword but through the power of a mighty pen. My author calls me, Melodies Of Humanity: The Golden Keys.

May this book of poetry convince your hearts to revisit the humanitarian predicaments of this world.

Thoughts on Melodies of Humanity

This book is so beautifully written and Ann Marie isn’t afraid to tackle some taboo subjects that we often don’t think about because it may not affect us directly. I think when we think about or discuss humanitarian issues, we think in really broad terms, and it is swept under the rug because no one person can change the world, right? It is impossible, so it is better to simply ignore it.

Yet the truth is, we absolutely can! We can all change it together. When we choose kindness over anger and hate, when we embrace those who are different, or even take the time to learn about other cultures we may not understand. We owe it to ourselves to start uniting again and working together to make the world a better place.

I’ve been really struggling this week with some anger and anxiety. There are fires burning around me and I’m always wondering if I’ve prepared enough for that. I’ve had a narcissist reappear in my life and it feels like she is stalking me. I have wanted to and contemplated lashing out against this person, mostly because it would satisfy the hate I’m feeling. But that isn’t productive and this person isn’t worth that much of my time or energy. The poem titled Walk Away For Peace really spoke to me, and reminded me why I cut her out of my life in the first place. I walked away for peace, and I owe it to myself to keep walking away.

But it wasn’t just about the poems that spoke to me and my personal life. It is about reminding me that there are other issues going on in the world that are a problem. It really made me stop and think about the world around me and things I know are happening, yet don’t ever give a second thought to.

Melodies of Humanity will make you stop and think about what we tolerate, what we normalize despite it being toxic behaviors, and what we flat out ignore in terms of things going on in the world. It is absolutely worth taking the time to read these poems.

Final Thoughts on Melodies of Humanity

If you haven’t read Melodies of Humanity yet, I highly recommend that you do so. Because you will learn and grow so much more than expected from one simple book of poetry.

Can I change the world on my own? Nope. I can’t. But I can change myself and that is an excellent start! Because kindness is contagious. Talking about issues that Ann Marie highlighted in this book is another great way. Shine a bright light on humanitarian issues, because the reason they flourish is because of the darkness. When we sweep them under the rug, we are allowing those issues to flourish. Shine a light on them and help stop giving them a place to hide.

It all starts with you and me. Each and every single one of us working together and working on ourselves can make the world a far better place. This realization and understanding where I need to focus my personal growth not only brought me to tears, but it inspired me to do more and do better. I hope you take that same message from Melodies of Humanity when you read it.

I honestly wasn’t expecting the level of personal growth that I got out of reading Melodies for Humanity, and that is one of the reasons I would love to see you read it as well, and get the same thing out of it.
