Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix Up

Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix Up

Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix Up is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. It is the first I’ve ever read from author Lilah Hart.

I’ve been making it more of a point to use my Kindle Unlimited subscription lately, and read short stories before bed. If you’ve ever played the “just one more chapter” game when reading before bedtime, you know how great short stories are for this purpose.

It is an adventure discovering new authors and their writing. Lilah Hart has written a lot of stories, so it’ll be interesting to see if I like this one or not, and if I continue reading her writing. It is a lot like a scavenger hunt, looking for new authors and discovering them. Sometimes you can find a hidden gem when you least expect it.

I have to admit that in this case, it was a gamble that paid off. I’m glad I discovered Lilah Hart’s writing.

About Wildwood Valley Brides

Welcome to Wildwood Valley, where the mountains are rugged, the men are rough, and the women are…missing.

This quiet mountain town has a problem: too many single ex-Navy SEALs and not a single woman in sight. The guys prefer it that way—until a nosy innkeeper secretly signs them up for a mail-order bride service.

One by one, the brides start arriving—sweet, sassy, wide-eyed women who have no idea just how off-the-grid and alpha their new husbands really are.

The mountain men didn’t ask for wives.

But that won’t stop them from keeping them.

About Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix Up

She came to marry a stranger, then fell for the wrong man. Now her fresh start might mean breaking one heart to follow another.

I’m in Wildwood Valley to get married.

I’ve never met my groom-to-be, but we’ve messaged for weeks. Mostly, I’m here out of desperation. I’ve lost my job and my parents. Starting fresh in a new town sounds like a good idea.

But when I head into the town’s only diner to kill some time, I meet a man like no one I’ve ever met. He’s tall and bulky and handsome…he’s exactly what I’d expect one of the lumberjacks in this town to look like.

Problem is, he isn’t my groom. And the more I get to know him, the more it sounds like calling off my wedding might be a good idea.

Mountain Man’s Mail-Order Mix-Up is an OTT age-gap romance featuring an alpha hero and V-card heroine. It’s a forced proximity ex-military, lumberjack romance with lots of steam that’s designed to be read in only 1 hour. If you like short, steamy instalove novellas, you’ll love the entire Seduction Summit Trails series!

Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix Up

In Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix Up, we meet Mackenzie and West.

Mackenzie shows up in Wildwood Valley with basically nothing, and bordering on desperate. Her dreams are shattered when she finds out there has been a mix-up at the inn she’s staying at. She and another woman have been “matched” to the same man. Two women can’t marry one man, so what does Mackenzie do? She can’t go back to her non-existent home and job, that’s for sure.

She goes to kill some time and meets West, and falls hard and fast for him. Things heat up quickly, and they fall for each other. He wants to help her, even without a relationship, which I think is so sweet and kind. But he also doesn’t complain about the relationship that happens either.

Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix Up is a short, simple, and fun read. It can be read in less than an hour. It has the perfect amount of character development, it isn’t cliche at all, which I appreciate.

Final Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix Up

I’m calling Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix Up a solid four star read. It was fun, entertaining, and I really enjoyed it.

I’m glad I discovered Lilah Hart and her writing. She’s written quite a bit. This may have been my introduction to her writing, but it certainly isn’t a farewell to her writing. I’m looking forward to reading more from her, and enjoying short stories each day. Keep reading below, as I add links to other Lilah Hart short stories that I’ve been reading.
