Mountain Man’s Autumn Angel
Mountain Man’s Autumn Angel is the latest short story from author Lilah Hart that I’m checking off my to be read list. This is book six in a six part series called Wildwood Valley Harvest.
I first discovered Lilah Hart when I read her Wildwood Valley Brides series, and I’ve been hooked on her short stories ever since. I was searching Amazon for stories that I could read in an hour, and that is where I found Lilah Hart’s stories. I’ve made it a goal of mine to read every one of her short stories. This is no easy task, as she has written a lot, but I’m slowly checking them all off my list, one by one.

Short stories like Mountain Man’s Autumn Angel are perfect for the busy times, which are happening more and more now that autumn has arrived. I’m afraid I’ll blink and the holidays will be here. But even on my busiest days, I can take the time to read one of Lilah Hart’s short stories, and still chase that feeling of accomplishment when I finish a book or story.
I’m loving this series because it is a fun way to celebrate autumn. Autumn equals football, soup, and hoodies to me. It is always my favorite season. I love to curl up on my couch with my favorite blanket, tea, and listen to the rain as I read a great story.
At the time of publishing this review for Mountain Man’s Autumn Angel, all of Lilah Hart’s short stories are available via Kindle Unlimited, making them even more easily accessible to readers. This helps me utilize my subscription, instead of forgetting about it for months while still being billed for it. This also enables me to reach that goal of reading all of her stories without breaking the bank as well. It’s a double win in my book.

About Wildwood Valley Harvest
Welcome to Wildwood Valley, a town with one diner, one inn, and six rugged mountain men who never expected a harvest festival to turn their world upside down. When a wave of farm-fresh, fall-loving women roll into town for the seasonal market, sparks fly between grumpy locals and the unexpected strangers who just might be their perfect match. Packed with pumpkin spice, stolen kisses, and small-town charm, Wildwood Valley Harvest is a series of steamy, one-hour romances where cozy meets combustible—and love is ripe for the picking.
About Mountain Man’s Autumn Angel
She came to the harvest festival to sell her angel pottery. She didn’t expect to fall for the property owner.
For six months, I’ve been talking to LumberJack47 online—late-night conversations that made me believe in love again. He gets my art, my dreams, and my obsession with creating seasonal angel collections that nobody else seems to understand.
But he’s never sent me a real photo.
And he stopped responding to my messages the moment I arrived in Wildwood Valley.
Now I’m standing at my booth, surrounded by autumn angels that nobody wants to buy, when the most gorgeous mountain man I’ve ever seen offers me a business partnership that could change everything.
Luca owns this entire property.
He believes in my vision.
And the way he looks at me makes my knees weak.
There’s just one problem—I can’t stop thinking about the man I’ve never met. How can I fall for someone new when my heart already belongs to a stranger behind a screen?
What I don’t know is that some strangers aren’t strangers at all.
Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Autumn Angel
In Mountain Man’s Autumn Angel we meet Luca and Melanie.
Luca owns the property where the festival is being held, and has been buying Melanie’s figurines and talking to her online for months. He just hasn’t told her who he actually is.
Melanie came to sell her figurines at the holiday festival, but is worried when Luca ghosts her through messages online, texts, and phone calls. She doesn’t realize who he is when she meets him in person.
Once everything comes out, things change between them. The connection they’ve built is too strong to ignore, and things heat up very quickly.
What I love about this is that Luca stops hiding behind a screen and shows up in person. Melanie learns to bet on herself and her own strengths and talents. There is heart and soul in this story, and not just about the sex/spice/romance/smut/whatever you want to call it. It runs much deeper than that, and I love that part. Sexy scenes are great, but it’s even better when it is deeper and the reader can feel that connection between the characters.
I am also a huge fan of the fact that Bobbi makes another appearance in this series. We were first introduced to her in the Wildwood Valley Brides series as the matchmaker and innkeeper in town. She’s still busy matchmaking, and it is obvious in this series that she hasn’t changed one bit. This makes me smile, and also makes me hope that there will be another series later down the road based in Wildwood Valley, where we’ll get the opportunity to see more of her matchmaking skills being put to work.
Final Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Autumn Angel
I’m calling Mountain Man’s Autumn Angel a five star read. Because this is a story that I will go back and read again in the future. It is staying on my Kindle!
The epilogue in Mountain Man’s Autumn Angel also allows the reader to catch up with all the couples and hear about their kids, how they are doing, and a quick overview of their growing businesses. If you’ve been invested in this specific series from the beginning, you will absolutely love this part. It was the perfect way to conclude the series, in my opinion.
Looking back at the entire series now, I’ve rated every story in it five stars, straight across the board. This is extremely rare for me, as there is usually one or two that just don’t resonate the same way the others do.
This entire series has definitely become my favorite. You really can’t go wrong with any story in this series, and Mountain Man’s Autumn Angel is certainly no exception. I find myself sad that this series is ending here, but also excited for the next Lilah Hart stories to be read on my list. There are always more, but the Wildwood Valley Harvest series definitely qualifies as my favorite series so far.
