Her Evergreen Billionaire

Her Evergreen Billionaire is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. It is the second book in a six part series called Billionaires of Pleasure Valley from author Lilah Hart.

I have become a big fan of Lilah Hart since I first read the Wildwood Valley Brides series over the summer. I was searching Amazon for short romance stories that could be read in an hour, and found hers.

It has become my goal to read all of Lilah Hart’s short stories, and I’m slowly checking them off the list one at a time. I love that they are all written to be standalone stories, so you can read them in any order. It doesn’t matter.

At the time of publishing this review, Her Evergreen Billionaire, and all of Lilah Hart’s short stories are available via Kindle Unlimited. This makes them easily accessible to readers without breaking the bank. Which during the holidays is even more important than ever. I really appreciate that this is an option.

This year I’ve been reading more stories that are based around the holidays, and I am really enjoying it.

Thoughts on Her Evergreen Billionaire

In Her Evergreen Billionaire we meet Mollie and Grady. Their first meeting is a disaster. Mollie destroyed Grady’s office with a simple spilled coffee. Then Mollie accuses Grady of sucking the joy and life out of a Christmas party.

But he schedules another meeting with her, and things go much smoother. Neither holds a grudge, so there is no drama with them, and I love that. It gave them a great opportunity to get to know each other better, and both find they want to spend more time together. Mollie and Grady end up complimenting each other perfectly, and it is the perfect holiday romance.

Things heat up along the way, but that wasn’t the main focus of this story, and I found myself appreciating that. Sometimes the spice should be the focus in a short romance story, but other times it just flows perfectly and compliments the story, which is exactly what happened here. It was a compliment to the story.

Mollie’s party doesn’t go as planned. The photographer has a family emergency, the musician gets into a car wreck on the way, the list goes on, and it should be an absolute disaster. But Mollie shows Grady just how to adapt, and that perfection isn’t always the answer. Real and perfect are two very different things.

I found this story to be absolutely perfect, especially with it being a holiday-centered story. There was no drama, it was more like the perfect Hallmark romantic comedy, and oddly enough, that was exactly what I wanted without realizing it until I was finished reading it.

I’m calling Her Evergreen Billionaire a five star read. Because it was the perfect warm, sweet romance story that I needed to read today. It is also one that I’ll read again in the future, which is a big criteria for a five star read in my personal ratings.

This was a heartwarming story that made me realize perfect isn’t a substitute for real. Real is awkward, imperfect, messy, and sometimes chaotic. We all have plans, and if you’re a prepper like me, you have backup plans. But sometimes even those fail, and you just have to work around it to make something amazing and special happen.

I also now want to go and bake some cranberry orange muffins to help celebrate the holidays.
