Chiseled Mountain Man

Chiseled Mountain Man is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. Lilah Hart has very quickly become one of my favorite short story authors. I found her originally when I was searching Amazon for romance stories that can be read in less than an hour.

That was what introduced me to the Wildwood Valley Brides series, and Lilah’s writing in general. These stories became the perfect break in between heavier full novels. I’ve been reading some V.C. Andrews novels recently, and found myself needing a break, even during the book itself.

I’ve come to realize that if I don’t take breaks during heavier novels, that I’ll fall into a reading slump that is hard to crawl back out of. Lilah Hart’s short stories are absolutely perfect for this, and to prevent me from falling into a reading slump.

I love that I can read them in an hour. The chapters are short, which makes me feel accomplished when I finish one, and drives me to read another. Before I know it, I’m finished and ready to read another.

Chiseled Mountain Man is book three in a six part series called Seduction Summit Lumberjacks.

The best part is that she has multiple series, but each story can be read as a standalone, and in any order you choose. I read them in order when I pick a series, but I have a bit of OCD about that. But it certainly isn’t required, and that is awesome.

Have you read Chiseled Mountain Man? Come on in and let me tell you about it!

About Seduction Summit Lumberjacks

A national baking competition has come to the Seduction Summit Lodge, bringing aspiring bakers from all over the country. For six contestants, sweets aren’t the only thing on the menu. The logging crew nearby is stocked with hot lumberjacks who have no interest in finding love…until it sneaks up on them.

About Chiseled Mountain Man

She’s in town to win a baking championship. He wants to convince her to stay around forever.

The stakes are high for me. Either I win this national baking championship and start my own bakery or I follow through on my promise to my parents to go to law school.

I don’t want to be a lawyer. I want to bake.

To burn off a little steam, I go for a morning run. That’s where I encounter the hottest guy I’ve ever seen. He invites me into his cabin for a glass of water…and now I’m not sure I want to ever leave.

Thoughts on Chiseled Mountain Man

In Chiseled Mountain Man we meet Bronte and Sean.

Bronte goes for a morning run and falls on her face. Awkward and embarrassing. That is where she meets Sean. The trail she was using runs through his property.

I felt so much for Bronte. She was fully expected to become a lawyer, and there was a ton of pressure from her family about this. That can be overwhelming, especially when it is pressure from family. Following dreams can be a mistake you pay for, and for many years to come.

Meeting Sean and falling in love and finding the courage to follow her dreams wasn’t easy. It takes a very strong woman to do this. Healthy choices are never easy choices. But it was totally worth it to see in this hour-long read.

Final Thoughts on Chiseled Mountain Man

I’m calling Chiseled Mountain Man a five star read. I loved how awkward and relatable that the characters are. I’m kind of amazed at the character development being done so well in this story. It was a fun read for me, and I would read this one again a second time later down the road.

I found myself rooting for Bronte and following her dreams. This story was well-balanced. It was a good combination of actual story and character development, and sex as well. Some stories can lean too heavily on one or the other, but this was the perfect balance for me. It was memorable, it was everything I wanted it to be, and it gave me exactly the happily ever after that I wanted.

Chiseled Mountain Man is a story that I will return to and read again in the future. Because it was everything I wanted in a quality short story.

One of the things that I love the most about these stories is that they are all available on Kindle Unlimited, at the time I’m publishing this review. This means that they are easily accessible to many readers. I don’t know about anyone else, but I take my Kindle everywhere with me, and it is easy to read even a few pages here and there throughout the day. If you’re waiting in line for coffee somewhere, a line to pick up your kids from school, for the bus, it doesn’t matter. If you have time to wait, you have time to enjoy a short story from Lilah Hart.
