Fierce Mountain Man

Fierce Mountain Man is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. This is book six in a six part series from Lilah Hart called Seduction Summit Lumberjacks. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far, and am excited to be reading the last one.

One of my favorite things about all of Lilah Hart’s short stories is that they may be part of a series, but they can easily be read as standalones, or in any order that you want. It doesn’t matter, which can make it a choose your own adventure kind of thing when deciding the order to read her stories.

If you’ve followed me for any length of time here at The Reading Wife, then you likely know I’m a big fan of short stories. I find this especially true in the summer, when I am even busier than usual with family events, birthdays, and beautiful weather. It can be easy to skip reading altogether, but why do that to myself? Not when I can read a great short story!

I take my Kindle everywhere with me, and it is easy to squeeze in a chapter here and there, when I’m waiting in line at a coffee shop, or waiting for the bus. The chapters are short and simple, so it isn’t the end of the world if it is interrupted. It doesn’t require the full concentration of a novel, and I appreciate that ability to still read without worrying I’m going to miss out on something big in a novel.

About Seduction Summit Lumberjacks

A national baking competition has come to the Seduction Summit Lodge, bringing aspiring bakers from all over the country. For six contestants, sweets aren’t the only thing on the menu. The logging crew nearby is stocked with hot lumberjacks who have no interest in finding love…until it sneaks up on them.

Turns out, walking around a construction site in ballet flats isn’t such a good idea. Within seconds, a nail punctures my shoe…and my foot.

But a hot mountain man shows up just in time to help me. He takes me back to his cabin and doctors my wound. He also offers me a place to stay until I can find something more permanent.

The more time I spend in his cozy cabin, though, the more I find I like it there. I’ve never had a home or a family. Spending time with him has me feeling at home for the first time ever.

But people always let me down. I learned that from a young age. How can I be sure I won’t get my heart broken?

Maybe it’s worth the risk.

Thoughts on Fierce Mountain Man

In Fierce Mountain Man we meet Emmy and Tobias. Emmy is walking around a construction zone and injures herself, and Tobias finds her. It was a cute and unique way to meet.

What I really loved the most was the character development in both Emmy and Tobias. I found myself invested in their stories. From Tobias being a veteran and his service, to Emmy being a foster kid and not asking for help. Watching Emmy bloom into the woman she was meant to be was amazing.

This was the perfect balance and mix of sex, character development, feelings, and happily ever after that I was looking for.

The ending also gives the readers a quick update on other characters from this series.

Final Thoughts on Fierce Mountain Man

I am calling Fierce Mountain Man a solid five star read, and one that I would definitely read again later down the road.

Looking back on this series, it was great. I’m still deciding which series is my favorite, but I’m leaning toward this one at the moment. But it is hard to choose a favorite too.

I am really glad I decided to read the Seduction Summit Lumberjacks series. I’m going to be reading the Wildwood Valley Harvest series next, which will be the perfect way to welcome fall this year.
