Haunted by the Mountain Man
Haunted by the Mountain Man is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. This is part of a multi-author series called Fall for a Mountain Man. You can read this story as a standalone, or part of the entire series.
I’m choosing to read two books in this series. Haunted by the Mountain Man from Tiffany Bloom, and Ignited by the Mountain Man from Lilah Hart. These two women have become my favorite short story authors, so that is why I’m choosing those. You can certainly read any of the stories in this series as a standalone, or in order. You can choose your own adventure because they are all individual stories.

I first discovered Tiffany Bloom when she was a brand new author and had just published The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame. I was hooked from there. I will also tell you that her writing has only improved from there too. I have been following her stories and impatiently waiting for her to publish more all the time.
These stories can be read in an hour, have a happily ever after ending, and are fun. What drove me to start reading stories like this was that it provided the perfect break in between heavier and darker novels. This prevented me from falling into a reading slump.
But now that fall is here, I find I just have less time to read. Fall equals hoodies, soup, and football for me. Short stories like this mean that I have time to watch more football, yet still read each day. Even on my busiest day, I can devote an hour to reading. Sometimes it is a chapter here and there throughout the day, or it is all at night when things settle down. It just depends on the day, but I can easily make it happen.
Her stories are perfect because the chapters are an average of five minutes long. It is easy to replace mindless social media doom scrolling with a chapter in one of Tiffany’s stories. Try it sometime, and you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can read a story like this.
At the time of publishing this review, all of Tiffany Bloom’s stories are available via Kindle Unlimited, making them more easily accessible to readers. I love this because I can read them and even re-read them later down the road without breaking my bank account.

About Haunted by the Mountain Man
She came hunting legends about women who vanish in these woods. Little does she know, she’s about to become one. The kind who disappears into a mountain man’s heart and never wants to be found.
Boone
I’ve carved jack-o’-lanterns every October for years, hoping to guide lost souls home. Never thought I was calling one to me. Holly appears in my forest like an answered prayer, all sexy curves and fierce heart, seeing beauty in decay, light in darkness. She doesn’t know these woods chose her for me, that every photo she takes binds her deeper to this place. To me.
I failed someone once, watched the fog swallow her whole. That guilt carved itself into my bones. But Holly? She’s rewriting every scar, every sleepless night, every hollow ache. She thinks she’s documenting legends. Truth is, she’s becoming mine. And I’ll spend forever proving she was always meant to find her way to me.
Holly
I fled to Granitehart Ridge to photograph ghost stories, not become one. My career lies in ruins, stolen by a man I trusted, leaving me with nothing but a camera and the desperate need to prove I still exist. These mountains whisper of women who vanish, of jack-o’-lanterns that appear in the forest from nowhere. Then I meet Boone, and suddenly I understand why people disappear into these woods willingly.
He’s built like an ancient oak, gentle as morning mist, with eyes that hold shadows of someone he couldn’t save. Every carved pumpkin he leaves on my trail is a love letter written in firelight: Mine. Stay. Home. I came here broken. But in his arms, I’m not just healing, I’m becoming something magical.

Thoughts on Haunted by the Mountain Man
In Haunted by the Mountain Man we meet Holly and Boone.
Boone carries scars from his failed search and rescue operation. Holly is struggling with being invisible and having a purpose.
In this story, we see them both growing. Boone healing from his trauma, and Holly becoming the woman she was always meant to be.
I fully expected a damn good love story when I started reading Haunted by the Mountain Man, because I’m so familiar with Tiffany Bloom and her writing at this point. I wasn’t disappointed in this regard. What I didn’t expect was how relatable these two characters are, and how it hit me right in the feels.
I identified with Holly so, so much. Being invisible is a huge struggle, especially when we as women are taught to be exactly that. Being visible means taking up space, and that just isn’t allowed. I was raised by a textbook narcissist, so being invisible was also a way to stay safe. But it also meant people walked all over me and took advantage. Just like what happened with Holly and her photos and magazine story.
But what really hit the feelings button for me is the simple fact that women glow differently when they are loved correctly. Because we are allowed to shine, to take up space, to have flaws and dreams, and so much more. It is a really special thing when any woman finds the person who will love her correctly, which is exactly what happened in this story. If you understand exactly what I’m talking about, then you will appreciate this story so much more.
I really wasn’t expecting the emotional connection that I had with this story, but that is part of what makes it so memorable for me. I feel so much gratitude for my husband, and being that person who loves me exactly the way I need him to. I walked away from this story wanting that for every single woman in the world.
Final Thoughts on Haunted by the Mountain Man
I’m calling Haunted by the Mountain Man a five star read. Because this is one that will stick with me long after I’ve moved on to other stories, and I will also read it a second time in the future. Both of these things are a big part of my five star rating criteria.
I realize that I’ve said I’m only reading Haunted by the Mountain Man and Lilah Hart’s story, Ignited by the Mountain Man, in this series, because I’m not familiar with any other authors who are part of it. But I will say that if they are as good as Tiffany and Lilah’s stories, it may very well be worth taking the time to read the entire series.
Reading this today was perfect, because it has been an insane and busy day. My husband is getting ready for a trip, and so I’m doing laundry, helping him pack, making sure everything in the house is clean so I can just focus on working and relaxing while he is gone. Taking the time to read a story from a favorite author just kind of forced me to stop and settle for a bit. It was the perfect break in between the insanity. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate those short moments and times.
I am also a big fan of the fact I discovered Tiffany Bloom and her writing just as she was getting started when she had published The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame. Because as a reader, I’ve been able to watch her writing continuously improve as she grows as an author.
I used to wonder if I would get bored reading so much from one author. Like, how many different romance stories can you write before they all start to blend together? But that hasn’t been the case at all. Tiffany continuously writes new and different characters, and even different tones to her stories.
Now if only she would publish more just so that I can binge read them all in a weekend. I’m not impatient for new stories at all. You really can’t go wrong with any of Tiffany Bloom’s writing. But I will say that this and THe Mountain Man’s Silent Claim are my top two favorites right now. That may change in the future, who knows. But for now, those are definitely my favorites.

About the Author
Tiffany Bloom writes swoon-worthy short instalove romances featuring strong men who give their curvy women the perfect Happily Ever After every time. She lives with her husband and dog in Virginia. When she’s not writing, you may find her taking long walks, trying new recipes, reading, and living her own HEA.

What to Expect from My Stories
My stories bring the heat and the heart. The spice is open-door and full of feeling. Every kiss, every touch, every stolen breath is about connection. Instant. Electric. The kind that knocks you off balance and doesn’t let you go.
I write men who fall fast and love hard: protective, obsessed, and all in from the moment they meet her. And my heroines? They’re smart, flawed, funny, and real. She’s not perfect, but he sees everything she is and walls all of her anyway.
My books are quick escapes, steamy, emotional, and a little addictive. If you’re into instalove, intense connection, and heroes who worship their women, you’re in the right place.
