The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame

The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. This is the first time I’ve heard of author Tiffany Bloom, and I was excited to read her series and see if I liked it.

Finding new authors is always an adventure. I’ve been making it a point to use my Kindle Unlimited subscription more often than I had previously, and it is a fun way to discover new authors I may not have tried otherwise.

I normally skip reading books at night before going to bed, because I always end up staying up well past my bedtime, and not getting enough sleep. I recklessly play the “just one more chapter” game like I’m not a dinosaur who needs to sleep. Short stories like this are absolutely perfect for reading at night.

About The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame

I took her keys so she couldn’t drive away. Now I’ll take her heart, her body, and her forever.

Cade

She showed up a week early, all curves and chaos, standing at my cabin door like she belonged there.

She wasn’t supposed to stay. I wasn’t supposed to want her.

But the second I took her keys, she was mine. I’ve been fighting the need to claim her ever since.

She came here looking for peace. I’ll give her that and everything else.

My bed. My name. My mountain.

I’ll build her a life so solid she never wants to leave, because letting her go isn’t an option.

Lena

I came to Granitehart Ridge Retreat to reset. Instead, I ended up in a stranger’s cabin, one who looks at me like he wants to ruin me in the best way.

Cade is all rough hands, intense eyes, and quiet control. He says I make him lose it. I say I’ve never felt safer.

This was supposed to be a weekend.

But with every touch, every whispered promise, he makes me want to stay.

And when I try to walk away, he’s the only thing I can’t leave behind.

Thoughts on The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame

“I thought love was something for other people… You found me on top of a mountain, and then you came back and filled my world with love. I vow to love you with everything I have inside me, for as long as you’ll have me.”

Tiffany Bloom, The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame

The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame is a quick read, only taking about an hour or so to read. These are the perfect stories to read before going to bed at night.

I found myself relating so much to our main character, Lena. She was suffering from burnout and struggling to find her identity after losing her job. She needed to run away, but she didn’t realize it wasn’t actually running away. It was running to where she needed to be. I’m quite sure that we’ve all suffered an identity crisis in our lives, after being consumed by something like a career, being a wife, a mother, a caregiver, whatever the case may be. Then when it is gone, who are we? That can be hard to define. Sometimes it takes time to find ourselves again and become the women we’re meant to be.

Lena needed to find herself, and so much more. She did exactly that in this story, and I loved it. I always find myself wanting that happily ever after in books, and I actually got it here.

My only complaint is that Cade could have been better developed, and communicated better with Lena. It seemed like this was far more about Lena than Lena and Cade together. But it was still an excellent story.

Final Thoughts on The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame

I’m calling The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame a solid four star read. I really enjoyed it. This may be my introduction to Tiffany Bloom and her writing, but I’ll definitely be reading more. It isn’t goodbye, that’s for sure.

I’m not normally a romance reader, but I’m finding myself starting to really enjoy them. After reading Lights Out, I started looking at more romance type stories. This one isn’t dark the way Lights Out was, it was a cozy and romantic read. But that was the catalyst for me, and I’m so glad it happened.

I once thought all romance novels were the same, just a different character name and location. This came from reading a few too many Nora Roberts and Danielle Steel novels when I was younger. It felt like they all followed some invisible formula. But these days that is no longer the case, and I’m seeing so much more coming from romance authors, and I appreciate it. I’m finding myself really glad that I’ve given romance stories another try.

I highly recommend that you give The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame a try. Even if you don’t normally read romance stories. Give it a try, you might just find yourself enjoying it. It is worth a try, especially since it is a short story and not a full novel.

About the Author

Tiffany Bloom writes swoon-worthy short instalove romances featuring strong men who give their curvy women the perfect Happily Ever After every time. She lives with her husband and dog in Virginia. When she’s not writing, you may find her taking long walks, trying new recipes, reading, and living her own HEA.

What to Expect from My Stories

My stories bring the heat and the heart. The spice is open-door and full of feeling. Every kiss, every touch, every stolen breath is about connection. Instant. Electric. The kind that knocks you off balance and doesn’t let you go.

I write men who fall fast and love hard: protective, obsessed, and all in from the moment they meet her. And my heroines? They’re smart, flawed, funny, and real. She’s not perfect, but he sees everything she is and walls all of her anyway.

My books are quick escapes, steamy, emotional, and a little addictive. If you’re into instalove, intense connection, and heroes who worship their women, you’re in the right place.
