The Mountain Man’s Midnight Vow
The Mountain Man’s Midnight Vow is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. I recently discovered Tiffany Bloom when I read The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame, and I really enjoyed it. This is the second story in her series, and she’ll be releasing the next two in the coming months.
Finding new authors is always an adventure. I’ve been making it a point to use my Kindle Unlimited subscription more often than I had previously, and it is a fun way to discover new authors I may not have tried otherwise.

Lately I’ve been struggling a bit to read full novels. Summer is here, it is hot, and I just seem to have a shorter attention span than usual. Short stories like this are the perfect thing to keep me reading, and not allow me to fall into a reading slump.
I also take my Kindle everywhere with me, and the short chapters mean I can squeeze in a quick read in between things. When the chapters are three minutes long, I can read one while I’m standing in line somewhere, and it is easy. Which I always appreciate . Sometimes short chapters like that mean everything.

About The Mountain Man’s Midnight Vow
She booked my cabin as a last resort. Now she sleeps in my bed, wears my flannel, and moans my name.
Micah
She showed up in the rain, lost and dripping on my porch, thinking she’d booked a cozy mountain B&B.
Instead, she walked straight into my cabin, the one I never meant to list, and straight into my life.
She’s all city curves, soft lips, and wide eyes. She plans to write a travel article this weekend.
Instead, I feed her, protect her, and touch her until she forgets where she came from.
She thinks this is just a job assignment, just a mix-up with nowhere else to stay.
But I’ve already claimed her, and I’m not letting her go.
Carlie
My reservation fell through, and a glitch sent me to a stranger’s cabin deep in the Virginia mountains.
I expected rustic charm, not a smoking-hot man with calloused hands and bedroom eyes.
Micah cooks like he’s trying to win me, and touches me like I already belong to him.
He’s wild, steady, tender, and everything I didn’t know I was looking for.
I keep telling myself this is just a weekend, and I’ll be driving home by Monday.
But when he holds me like I’m his, I don’t want to go anywhere.
Thoughts on The Mountain Man’s Midnight Vow
“The hell with checkout instructions. I can’t do it. My heart pounds in my chest. My hands shake. I lost my mother to a sickness the doctors had no cure for. I lost a couple of buddies in Afghanistan. For all those people, I sealed myself up tight and moved on. Everyone I love gets taken from me and here is a damned app telling me to let go and walk away one more time.””
Tiffany Bloom, The Mountain Man’s Midnight Vow
The first book in the series was relatable and it entertained me. This one hit me right in the feels when I was on the ending half of this short story. I found myself driven to read it and find out if Micah and Carlie got the happily ever after I wanted them to.
I had originally mentioned that there was a lack of character development in the first story, The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame. It was very one-sided on the part of our two main characters. Obviously Tiffany Bloom is getting better with her writing, as this one was perfect in that regard. It was about both Micah and Carlie, and they both had equal time in the spotlight, so to speak.
I love stories where a strong woman discovers that she is unhappy in an accidental way, and has the courage to follow her heart and find herself and her path that she is meant to be on. That is the kind of thing that boosts confidence, and fictional story or not, I love seeing it. I constantly root for women in real life who find that as well. I want everyone to find their happily ever after, both in life, and in books.
I really enjoyed this story, and now I’m impatiently waiting on Tiffany Bloom to release the next two stories in this series. I’m also hoping she has plans for more at the same time. I want to see where her writing takes her, and watch her growing as a writer at the same time.
Final Thoughts on The The Mountain Man’s Midnight Vow
I’m calling The Mountain Man’s Midnight Vow a five star read for me. It was everything I wanted it to be, yet real and believable at the same time. I understood both characters and their emotions and struggles as they fell in love with each other, and especially Carlie, as she chose to leave an unfulfilling life behind to follow a dream she didn’t realize she had.
This is the second short story I’ve read from author Tiffany Bloom, and I have a feeling that she will quickly become a repeat author here in my blog. I find myself annoyed that I can’t sit down and spend a weekend binge reading everything she’s written, because as of right now, I’ve read everything she has published so far.
But I know she has plans for at least two more short stories coming up in the next couple of months, and I’m excited to read those and share them with you here.
If you need a good short story with a happily ever after ending, I highly recommend this story. You won’t be disappointed.

About the Author
Tiffany Bloom writes swoon-worthy short instalove romances featuring strong men who give their curvy women the perfect Happily Ever After every time. She lives with her husband and dog in Virginia. When she’s not writing, you may find her taking long walks, trying new recipes, reading, and living her own HEA.

What to Expect from My Stories
My stories bring the heat and the heart. The spice is open-door and full of feeling. Every kiss, every touch, every stolen breath is about connection. Instant. Electric. The kind that knocks you off balance and doesn’t let you go.
I write men who fall fast and love hard: protective, obsessed, and all in from the moment they meet her. And my heroines? They’re smart, flawed, funny, and real. She’s not perfect, but he sees everything she is and walls all of her anyway.
My books are quick escapes, steamy, emotional, and a little addictive. If you’re into instalove, intense connection, and heroes who worship their women, you’re in the right place.
