Mountain Man’s Bonfire Beauty from author Lilah Hart is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. It is book five in a six part series called Wildwood Valley Harvest. This is the perfect series to read as we say goodbye to summer and hello to autumn.

Now that the weather is changing, I find myself wanting to curl up on the couch and read more often. But autumn also means football, soup, and hoodies for me. What I love about short stories like this is that I still get to read an entire story, yet also have the time to watch the football games I want to. I’m not sacrificing my reading time tor the television. I’m simply shifting the ratios of how much time I spend on both.

I first discovered Lilah Hart when I read her Wildwood Valley Brides series. I was doing a search on Amazon for short romance stories that could be read in just an hour. Even on my busiest days, I can spare an hour to read.

After reading that series, it became my goal to read everything that Lilah Hart has written, and I’m slowly checking each story off my to be read list, including Mountain Man’s Bonfire Beauty.

At the time of publishing this review, all of Lilah Hart’s stories are available via Kindle Unlimited, making them easily accessible to readers without breaking the bank along the way. Her stories have also helped me to utilize my Kindle Unlimited subscription instead of forgetting about it while I’m still being billed month after month.

The Wildwood Valley Harvest series has definitely become a favorite for me, and I’m excited to tell you more about it.

Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Bonfire Beauty

In Mountain Man’s Bonfire Beauty we meet Ayden and Parker. Ayden is a veteran, and still follows strict organization, rules, and protocols. He comes across as being very rigid and strict.

Parker is a woman who clearly thrives when she is loved and feels safe. It is obvious how she blossoms in the right environment with the right person, and I absolutely love that. People glow differently when they are loved correctly, and that is something I felt deeply as I read this story.

Ayden also learns to lighten up a bit along the way. He is still a very well prepared man, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be present in the moment and actually enjoy himself.

I fell head over heels in love with the evolution of both Ayden and Parker together. They really did make each other better.

Mountain Man’s Bonfire Beauty isn’t just a simple short story about sex/spice/smut that we’ve all read a thousand times over. This is real. Lilah Hart wrote a lot of love, emotion, feeling, and amazing characters into this story. It shows, and was something I felt deeply as I read it.

Final Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Bonfire Beauty

I’m calling Mountain Man’s Bonfire Beauty a five star read. It is one that gave me all the feels, I loved the characters, I’m raving about it here, and I will absolutely read it again.

I’ve said it before in previous reviews that the Wildwood Valley Harvest series may very well end up being my favorite, and I’ll say it again. Because Lilah Hart is writing real, vulnerable, and flawed characters that are relatable.

She really has hit a home run with this entire series, and I’m beyond excited to read the sixth book and see if it is just as good as all of the others.

Normally in previous series I’ve read from her, there is always one or two out of the six that are on the hit and miss side, where they are mediocre in comparison to others. But with this series, I’ve rated every single book a five star read.

I’m really impressed with the characters she has created in this series. If you want a great short story that will give you all the feels, you really can’t go wrong with the Wildwood Valley Harvest series.
