Mountain Man’s Corn Maze Cutie
Mountain Man’s Corn Maze Cutie is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. I first discovered Lilah Hart when I read her Wildwood Valley Brides series, and I’ve been hooked on her short stories ever since.
This is the third series I’ve read from her, along with several standalone stories. When I originally found her stories, I had been searching Amazon for short romance reads that can be read in an hour.

This is a series, along with many of Lilah Hart’s stories, but they can all be read as standalone stories, in any order that you choose. I generally pick a series and read them in order, just because I have a small amount of obsessive compulsive disorder, and that OCD makes it so I go in order. But the beauty of her stories is that you really can choose your own adventure when it comes to reading them.
The Wildwood Valley Harvest series is the perfect way to celebrate the changing of seasons and fall approaching. I love books that center around seasons. For me, fall equals hoodies, soup, and football. I also love reading a good short story with my favorite tea and blanket, as I listen to the rain outside.

About Wildwood Valley Harvest
Welcome to Wildwood Valley, a town with one diner, one inn, and six rugged mountain men who never expected a harvest festival to turn their world upside down. When a wave of farm-fresh, fall-loving women roll into town for the seasonal market, sparks fly between grumpy locals and the unexpected strangers who just might be their perfect match. Packed with pumpkin spice, stolen kisses, and small-town charm, Wildwood Valley Harvest is a series of steamy, one-hour romances where cozy meets combustible—and love is ripe for the picking.
About Mountain Man’s Corn Maze Cutie
She came to sell popcorn, not fall for the grumpy maze builder. He planned everything perfectly—except meeting her.
I came to Wildwood Valley’s Harvest Festival to sell popcorn, not to clash with the grumpiest, most gorgeous mountain man alive.
Marc Fowler stormed over to complain about customers dropping my “crap” all over his perfectly designed maze.
Sparks flew. The bad kind.
At first.
He was all military precision and brooding intensity. I was the chaos he couldn’t control.
But when a lost child brought us together in the moonlit maze, everything changed. One kiss led to another. Before I knew it, I was giving him my virginity, my heart, and maybe my future.
The problem? Getting caught could ruin everything I’d worked for. In the festival circuit, reputation is everything.
Unless Marc can convince me that some risks are worth taking… And that the best kind of love leaves you completely lost.
Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Corn Maze Cutie
In Mountain Man’s Corn Maze Cutie we meet Cecelia and Marc. Cecelia is focused, independent, and feisty. But also nurturing and caring. You can see it when Oliver gets lost in the corn maze, and she wants to help find him. Marc is all structure and control. They are like oil and water.
Yet things heat up very quickly with these two, and it is amazing. This connection is exactly the kind I like. The chemistry between them cannot be ignored.
I am not even going to lie when I say I fully expected to hate this story. Because there is always one in every series I’ve read so far that just isn’t quite as strong as the others.
Yet somehow it has become one of my favorites. This story started off on kind of an ugly tone, and my thoughts about Marc were, dude is a dick. Not grumpy or gruff, he’s just a rigid asshole and control freak. But the more I read, the more I actually liked him, and I liked how quickly things heated up between him and Cecelia.
Sometimes even short stories can drag on, but this one seemed to read faster than most. I found myself absolutely loving it, and when I was done, even the beginning seemed perfect and to fit with the overall story.
Final Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Corn Maze Cutie
I’m calling Mountain Man’s Corn Maze Cutie a five star read. Because it captured my attention, exceeded my expectations, and drove me to keep reading.
This is a story that I would absolutely go back and read again. I’m curious how the series will go from here. I went back to my reviews of the first books in the series, and I’ve called every single one five stars so far. I’m really curious if the next three stories can live up to the same standards as the first three. We will find out soon!
