Mountain Man’s Pumpkin Spice

Mountain Man’s Pumpkin Spice is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. I’ve been waiting for the Wildwood Valley Harvest series, and this is book number two out of six.

This is the third series from Lilah Hart that I’ve read, and have been hooked from the very beginning. I’ve made it a goal of mine to read all of her short stories, and I’m slowly making my way down the list.

I am a big fan of short stories because they give me a break from longer and heavier novels. If you ever find yourself in a reading slump, try a short story like this. They are perfect for that, because chapters and the story are both short, I feel accomplished when I finish them, and it drives me to continue reading.

I also take my Kindle everywhere with me, and that means it is easy to squeeze in a chapter here and there throughout the day, even if I am busy. I can always find a few minutes to spare and read a chapter, then come back to it when I have a few minutes more, until I’m done in the same day.

Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Pumpkin Spice

In Mountain Man’s Pumpkin Spice we meet Marissa and Ashe.

Marissa sells spice blends and needs a new display made. As a recipe blogger, I totally understand this part. Food styling and displays are insanely important. I can only imagine she was having an internal panic attack when she went to ask Ashe for help.

I love how passionate she is about her spice blends. When you love what you do, it is easy to talk about it with everyone. It was clear that is exactly how Marissa was.

Ashe starts off grumpy, gruff, and terrible with conversations. A direct contrast from Marissa. Yet he does improve as the story goes on, and actually says more than one word.

I love that when people feel safe with each other, they not only open up, but they thrive too. Which is exactly the vibe I got from Ashe. He needed that perfect person to round off his edges, so to speak.

This was a quick, but fun romance story that I actually got lost in. I wanted to see where it went, and was kind of disappointed when it was all over.

Final Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Pumpkin Spice

I’m calling Mountain Man’s Pumpkin Spice a five star read. I found myself invested from the start, especially because there was such a difference in personalities between Marissa and Ashe. I wanted to see if they could actually come together.

Obviously I still have more stories to read in this series, but it may be my favorite of Lilah Hart’s that I’ve read so far. I still think the Wildwood Valley Brides is the best, but we’ll see how I feel when I’m done reading this series.

If you want a happily ever after romance story that you can read in an hour or less, Mountain Man’s Pumpkin Spice and any Lilah Hart story, is absolutely perfect for you. This may be the second story in a six part series, but they are all written to be standalone stories, and you are not required to read them in any specific order.
