The Mountain Man’s Forest Heart

The Mountain Man’s Forest Heart is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. I recently discovered Tiffany Bloom when I read The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame, and I have been following the release of this entire series ever since. This is the third story in her series, and she’ll be releasing the next two in the coming months.

Finding new authors is always an adventure. I’ve been making it a point to use my Kindle Unlimited subscription more often than I had previously, and it is a fun way to discover new authors I may not have tried otherwise.

I love when I can find a brand new author that is talented, and follow along in their writing journey, which is exactly what I found with Tiffany Bloom. I’ve been able to read her writing from the very beginning, and I’m constantly excited when she releases a new story for me to read.

Tiffany Bloom has become a repeat author here in my blog, and she will continue to be there as she continues writing. Do you have a favorite author, one you want to binge read everything they’ve written? Or have a goal of reading everything from them? I have a couple myself, and Tiffany is working her way up that list as well.

About The Mountain Man’s Forest Heart

Her cabin burned down, and she’s staying with me. I’ll spend the weekend showing her why she’ll never want to leave.

Jake

I didn’t want company, and definitely not a curvy city girl with eyes I can’t forget. Her cabin burned down, and the retreat assigned her to mine for the weekend. Now she’s in my space, making coffee in my kitchen, tempting every part of me. She thinks she’s just passing through. But I already know she belongs right here. I take her to my secret overlook, kiss her under the stars, and crave her like air. She thinks she’s leaving on Monday, but I’ve already made her mine forever.

Hannah

My boss sent me to the mountains for rest after I burned out at work. Instead, I ended up stranded in the cabin of a quiet, too-handsome mountain man. He tells me to unplug, takes me hiking, and kisses me like he means it. This was supposed to be a reset. But it feels like something bigger—something real. He watches over me like I matter, touches me like I’ve never been touched. I came for peace and perspective. I might be walking away with a mountain man.

Thoughts on The Mountain Man’s Forest Heart

“Except with Jake, I don’t have to perform or prove anything. I just… exist. And somehow, that’s enough.”

Tiffany Bloom, The Mountain Man’s Forest Heart

In this story we meet Jake and Hannah.

Hannah is a woman who struggles to unplug and ignore work. If you’re a perfectionist or overachiever, you will seriously relate to Hannah. I know I did. She heads off to a wilderness retreat to unplug, only to find her cabin has burnt down before she can check in. Great start to a weekend getaway. I’d have probably run away to a hotel somewhere else and become a hermit enjoying room service and air conditioning for a weekend. But Hannah sticks it out, and I’m glad she did.

She needed the escape. But it wasn’t just about the escape. It was about finding what made her happy, and who she was. Her identity didn’t need to be wrapped up in her work alone. Hannah is still a woman, a human, with hobbies, interests, goals, and so much more. Work is only a portion of her identity, but she didn’t know what the rest of her identity actually entailed.

Jake wanted to help her find that, because he could easily see from a mile away the stress Hannah was experiencing and how unhappy she was.

The romance, spice, smut, sex, whatever you label that portion of romance stories, isn’t much here. But I appreciate that with this story. Because yes, it is a romance story. But Tiffany Bloom made it so much more than that, and the sex scenes in it aren’t the focus. They shouldn’t be in this one. If you’re looking for insta-love with no plot, you need to be looking elsewhere.

If you want a good story about a woman you can relate to, who changes her life in the most positive way, this is the story for you. It should cause you to reflect and inspire you to make changes in your own life.

If you’re looking for a purely spicy book just about sex and absolutely no plot, you’ll want to look elsewhere in the short story department.

Final Thoughts on The Mountain Man’s Forest Heart

I’m calling The Mountain Man’s Forest Heart a solid five star read. It is one that I needed to read for myself right now, and it found me at just the right time. I always hope that anytime I review a book or talk about it, it will find readers at exactly the time they need it to, and it will speak to them in just the right way.

July is a month where I struggle emotionally every year. The anniversary of my best friend’s death is rapidly approaching, and grief is a tough subject to handle. This is the kind of story that made me want to pause, reflect, and talk about changes. But not just talk about them, to celebrate those changes.

It also made me want to think more about my future, and exactly what I want that to look like. It isn’t sitting in an office trying to work my way up a corporate ladder, just to die and be replaced before my funeral even happens.

I’ll be perfectly honest here and tell you that I did not expect that kind of outcome after I read The Mountain Man’s Forest Heart. I expected to read it, enjoy it, review it, and move on to the next story or novel on my to be read list, as I do every time I start something new.

But I ended up getting so much more out of the story, thanks to Tiffany Bloom. She wrote the character of Hannah brilliantly, and it was exactly what I needed in my own life.

Discussion

Have you read The Mountain Man’s Forest Heart  or any other writing from author Tiffany Bloom? Are you a fan? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

About the Author

Tiffany Bloom writes swoon-worthy short instalove romances featuring strong men who give their curvy women the perfect Happily Ever After every time. She lives with her husband and dog in Virginia. When she’s not writing, you may find her taking long walks, trying new recipes, reading, and living her own HEA.

What to Expect from My Stories

My stories bring the heat and the heart. The spice is open-door and full of feeling. Every kiss, every touch, every stolen breath is about connection. Instant. Electric. The kind that knocks you off balance and doesn’t let you go.

I write men who fall fast and love hard: protective, obsessed, and all in from the moment they meet her. And my heroines? They’re smart, flawed, funny, and real. She’s not perfect, but he sees everything she is and walls all of her anyway.

My books are quick escapes, steamy, emotional, and a little addictive. If you’re into instalove, intense connection, and heroes who worship their women, you’re in the right place.
