The Mountain Man’s Wild Haven
The Mountain Man’s Wild Haven is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. I recently discovered Tiffany Bloom when I read The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame, and I have been following the release of this entire series ever since. This is the fourth story in her series, and she’ll be releasing more in the coming months.
Finding new authors is always an adventure. I’ve been making it a point to use my Kindle Unlimited subscription more often than I had previously, and it is a fun way to discover new authors I may not have tried otherwise.

I am always impatiently waiting on Tiffany Bloom to release another short story, because I enjoy reading them so much. They are super fun because they only take about an hour to read. They give me the happily ever after I always want, but do not necessarily get in many of the books I read.
Reading these stories also is a welcome break in between heavier novels. I’ve found myself reading a lot of dark romance novels lately, but sometimes I need a sanity break with something quick, fairly simple, and happy. That way I’m not bogged down with darker writing.

About The Mountain Man’s Wild Haven
She crashed her car trying to challenge the wilderness. Now I’m teaching her how to survive, and what it feels like to be claimed.
Dex
She crashed her car on a remote mountain road and landed in my world like fate had a hand in it. Amber came here looking for something. Freedom, maybe, or a piece of herself she thought she lost. I should’ve called in the tow and gone back to my life, but one look at her and I knew I wouldn’t. Now she’s stuck in my cabin for the long weekend, sleeping under my roof, wearing my flannel. She doesn’t know it yet, but she belongs here with me, in this life I built to keep everyone out. And I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure she never walks away.
Amber
Getting downsized was the push I needed to finally stop playing it safe and start living for myself. So I packed a bag, drove to Granitehart Ridge Retreat, and promised I’d do something bold for once in my life. I didn’t expect to end up in a ditch, face-to-face with a silent, brooding mountain man built like a storm. Dex doesn’t say much, but when he looks at me, I forget every reason I was supposed to leave. He shows me a quiet world filled with bees, wildflowers, and a kind of safety I’ve never known. And somewhere between the willow tree and his bed, I start to wonder if I’ve finally come home.
Thoughts on The Mountain Man’s Wild Haven
“I extend my arm with a flourish and present her with our destination. Her lips part. Her face lights up like a mountain sunrise. She doesn’t say anything. She stands next to me, quiet as the trees. I feel her breath catch, and mine follows. I know then that I’ll bring her here every damn day if it means I get to watch her fall in love with the world again.”
Tiffany Bloom, The Mountain Man’s Wild Haven
In The Mountain Man’s Wild Haven, we meet Amber and Dex. Amber is running away to do something outside her comfort zone after being laid off from her job, and calling it “downsizing,” which is just a kinder way to say that you’re fired, really. Is she running away or running to something? She doesn’t know, but she’s certainly going to give it a try. This is something that will boost your confidence.
Dex is someone who hears long-dead voices in his head. If you’ve ever struggled with negative thoughts and hearing negative things someone says about you playing over and over in your head, then you’ll completely understand Dex and what he is experiencing. I’ve been there myself, and it is rough. He isolates himself to keep from repeating the past and living up to the negative things his family has said about him. Basically, if he doesn’t try to form any kind of relationship with anyone, he can’t screw it up.
I completely understood and felt both of these characters so, so very much.
This short story took me on a roller coaster of emotions and feelings. It gave me everything, and just when I thought it would rip me apart completely, it put all the pieces right back together where they belonged.
Damn, is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about The Mountain Man’s Wild Haven. Tiffany Bloom knocked this one straight out of the park. Full blown home run here, and I’m not exaggerating. I’m actually blown away by the amount of character development and emotions that she managed to squeeze into a short story like this. That takes real talent, and there are authors who can’t achieve making me feel these emotions in four hundred pages.
Most short stories are good. They entertain me for an hour, I’m distracted, enjoy them, and then forget them as I move on to other short stories and full novels. But in this case, it is abundantly clear that Tiffany Bloom is getting better and better with every story she writes. I’m impressed, as this is not a story I will forget. This is one that will stick with me long after I’ve moved on to other stories and novels.
Final Thoughts on The Mountain Man’s Wild Haven
I am calling The Mountain Man’s Wild Haven a five star read. This is actually a story that I will return to and read a second time. Or maybe the seventeenth time in the future. It is definitely one that I can see myself reading again.
I’m so impressed with Tiffany’s writing. It was clear she had talent when I read the first of this series, The Mountain Man’s Hidden Flame. But I didn’t realize that each and every one of these stories in the series would just get better and better. Every time I don’t think I can like or love a story any more than I do, she says, hold my beer, and proves me wrong.
I’m a fangirl, to say the least, at this point. If you want a good, emotional story that you’re invested in, on the edge of your seat and needing to find out everything that happens, but only have an hour to read, then this is the perfect story for you! You’ll thank me, I promise.
You really can’t go wrong with any of Tiffany Bloom’s writing, but as I said, this is the best one yet. I’m very curious to see if the next one will be the same level of a home run. Thinking back on all the short stories I’ve read, I can only name a couple others that have been this memorable and drove me to keep reading. It really was just that good.

About the Author
Tiffany Bloom writes swoon-worthy short instalove romances featuring strong men who give their curvy women the perfect Happily Ever After every time. She lives with her husband and dog in Virginia. When she’s not writing, you may find her taking long walks, trying new recipes, reading, and living her own HEA.

What to Expect from My Stories
My stories bring the heat and the heart. The spice is open-door and full of feeling. Every kiss, every touch, every stolen breath is about connection. Instant. Electric. The kind that knocks you off balance and doesn’t let you go.
I write men who fall fast and love hard: protective, obsessed, and all in from the moment they meet her. And my heroines? They’re smart, flawed, funny, and real. She’s not perfect, but he sees everything she is and walls all of her anyway.
My books are quick escapes, steamy, emotional, and a little addictive. If you’re into instalove, intense connection, and heroes who worship their women, you’re in the right place.
