Blooming Wallflowers
Blooming Wallflowers from author Ashli Ferguson is the latest short story to cross my path, and I am exceptionally glad that it did!
“You may feel disconnected with yourself now… but once your mind and body align again, ahhh what a magical feeling that will be.”

About Blooming Wallflowers
If you loved Barefoot Magic then you’ll love Ashli’s new book Blooming Wallflowers.
Blooming Wallflowers is a book of poems and shorts that is sure to pull at your heartstrings and warm your heart all at once. It’s honest, it’s real, it’s something for everyone – no matter the age.
It’s full of real life feelings and accounts written in a way everyone can understand what she’s feeling and relate it to their life and that’s exactly what she’s writing for – to help and hope you feel like you’re not alone.
Blooming Wallflowers wants you to see being a wallflower may not be as bad as it seems.
So come join us and let’s be wallflowers together.
Thoughts on Blooming Wallflowers
“You look up at the stars and think “wow, what beauty.” But why don’t you look in the mirror and think the same thing?”
Ashli Ferguson, Blooming Wallflowers
This is a short read, at just eighty pages. This is the second book that Ashli Ferguson has published, but the first read for me.
I originally found out about her books via Twitter, and it sparked my curiosity enough to go and check them out. I didn’t realize that I was going to find gold.
In today’s world, I don’t think any of us take nearly enough time to just breathe, have a positive image of ourselves, or take the time to focus on our own self-care. Ashli reminds us in the most positive ways to do all of those things.
This is like a cross between a hug, a pep talk with your best friend and a meditation session, all rolled into one book. Picking up her book means you’ll walk away feeling lighter and better, no matter which poem you happen to pick to read at that moment.
“If you’re looking inward and thinking “I’m not enough” to yourself… What makes you think you’re ready to be enough for someone else?”

Final Thoughts on Blooming Wallflowers
“You treat everyone as if they have a heart like yours.
I’ll let you in on a little secret.
They don’t.
Some people may stay
And some people may go
But no one but you
Will really feel like home.
So you take care of your heart,
You beautiful soul.
Take care and stay humble
Don’t let life take its toll.
Your heart – well, it shines
It’s as bright as can be.
So go on, little one,
Let your love be free.”
Ashli Ferguson, Blooming Wallflowers
I’m struggling not to just sit here and quote every single chapter or poem in this amazing book in this review. Because they are all just that great. But that would certainly spoil it for the next reader. I will tell you that after reading it, you’ll walk away from it feeling lighter and better in your heart and soul.
I originally purchased Blooming Wallflowers for my Kindle, but now I need a physical copy as well. That way I can pick it up and open it to any page when I need a little pick-me-up. It reminds me of Spiritual Travelers from Ann Marie Ruby, and I love that. Spiritual Travelers is one I pick up at least once a day, and just read a quote out of it and let it speak to me. I can definitely see Blooming Wallflowers doing the exact same thing.
This was the first book from Ashli Ferguson that I’ve read, but it certainly will not be the last.
“If all you did today was breathe… well that’s okay with me.”

About the Author

Ashli (Green) Ferguson has been writing for as long as she can remember. Growing up an only child she always had her nose buried in a book imagining things so far beyond her reach that she wonders how she had time for anything else. Graduating in 2006 in the top of her class, Ashli decided she knew what she wanted to do, and she did it.
Now, years later, she has published her latest book Barefoot Magic and is so proud, happy and thrilled to be writing again and publishing things for you to enjoy.
