Mountain Man’s Mail Order Challenge

Mountain Man’s Mail Order Challenge is the latest short story to be checked off my to be read list. I’ve come to really enjoy Lilah Hart’s short stories, and have been reading a lot of them lately.

What I love about these stories are that they can all be read in an hour or less, and in any order. They may be part of a series, but they stand on their own at the same time. This is perfect for when I only have a short amount of time to read in a day, or I find myself in a reading slump and need something quick and easy to read.

If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I appreciate a good short story, and I’m really glad I found Lilah Hart and hers. I’ve had no complaints so far, and I fully intend on reading all of her stories to review here in my blog.

For me, they are a break between heavier and longer novels, so that I don’t fall into a reading slump. They give me the warm and fuzzy happily ever after that I find myself craving, especially after reading darker materials.

These stories are also great if you’re a Kindle Unlimited subscriber. It makes them even more accessible to readers.

I have one night to convince him that I’m the woman for him. But as I tag along on his afternoon errands, it’s starting to look like I’ll convince him long before the sun goes down.

Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Mail Order Challenge

In this story, we meet Collin and Paget. Paget shows up on the mountain behind Collin’s property with a duffel bag, a fake engagement, and a metric ton of determination. She knows that Bobbi, the matchmaking innkeeper set them up and it was all fake. This means that she isn’t at all surprised by Collin’s lack of excitement to see and meet her. But that doesn’t stop her. She is determined to make it work.

I am actually amazed by the character development in this story. I found myself loving Paget’s confidence and determination. She didn’t blink an eye at making things happen and making them work.

I read this story very quickly. It sucked me in and kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved it. This was one that was super easy to read, and I loved the characters.

Final Thoughts on Mountain Man’s Mail Order Challenge

I’m calling Mountain Man’s Mail Order Challenge a five star read. This definitely ranks in my top favorites that I’ve read from Lilah Hart so far. Although I’ve enjoyed the entire series.

These characters were memorable, brilliantly developed for such a short story, and I could feel them and their experiences. I am actually really impressed with this story.

I’ll also admit that I’ve been impatiently waiting for this story, and the rest that are coming in the near future that are part of this specific series. Because I’ve enjoyed them so much, I want to read them all now. But then again, patience has never been one of my strongest personality traits.

If you need a good short story to entertain you on a bus ride, while waiting in line, or simply to spend a quiet hour on the couch, you really can’t go wrong with any of Lilah Hart’s short stories, but Mountain Man’s Mail Order Challenge is a strong recommendation from me.
