The Candy Cane Killer is my latest short story series, and it is interesting. I originally started reading it because the title caught my attention, and found myself drawn in and wanting to read more.

About The Candy Cane Killer

A merry bit of Christmas shopping takes a more sinister turn when a man is found dead – stabbed to death with a candy cane. Who was the masked assailant who attacked him? And why did they choose a candy cane as a weapon? Luckily, a shrewd old lady named Alma Easter is on hand to investigate.

Thoughts on The Candy Cane Killer

The Candy Cane Killer is a short story, at just twelve pages. Which is the perfect thing to enjoy with the morning coffee or before bed instead of reading a newspaper or scrolling through social media. I have found this practice to be very calming and just good for my mental health.

This is the first in a five part series from author Alice Webb.

I must admit that when I was looking for a new short story to read, the title of this one caught my attention and made me want to read it. Who kills someone else with a candy cane? Is that even possible?! I was intrigued and wanted to read it, along with the rest of the series. I needed the answers!

It reminded me of a ‘Murder, She Wrote’ style short story. Police officer’s wife just happened to be in the right place at the right time where someone is found murdered and needs to investigate the scene while waiting for the police. Think very condensed version of Murder, She Wrote, and that is the best way I can describe The Candy Cane Killer.

Final Thoughts on The Candy Cane Killer

At just twelve pages, I read this book in no time at all and I loved it. I have been making it a point to read twice a day, a short story and then a couple chapters of a novel, and this was the perfect short story to get my day started.

I would recommend The Candy Cane Killer if you are looking for something short and simple to enjoy in place of a newspaper or time on social media. This is significantly more enjoyable!

This is book one in a five part series from author Alice Webb, and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series as the week goes on.
