Spiritual Lighthouse is a collection of dream diaries from bestselling author Ann Marie Ruby. I like to start each new year with reading a favorite author, and this year I decided that Ann Marie’s book was perfect for me. 

I may be a bit superstitious, but I like knowing I am starting the year off on a good note book-wise. For me, it sets the tone for a good reading year. It also prevents me from falling into a reading slump right away.

I first became an avid fan of Ann Marie Ruby when I read Spiritual Songs II several years ago, and I’ve enjoyed her books ever since. She has two series, both of which are favorites for me. There is the Spiritual Songs series, and the Kasteel Vrederic series. I have always found myself returning to her books when I need a positive note, because her writing feels like a hug from a friend.

Thoughts on Spiritual Lighthouse 

Spiritual Lighthouse is a really fun, interesting, and easy read. It is a dream diary that Ann Marie has kept over the years. Each chapter is one dream, then it is expanded on in greater detail, which is really neat. It is an adventure learning more about dreams. 

I always know I’m going to get an excellent read when I pick up any of Ann Marie’s books, but this one really was more interesting than I was anticipating. Which may simply be because I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump because the holidays have been so busy. I haven’t felt motivated to read much, and I’ve started and stopped several books. 

My favorite thing about this book is how easy it is to read. I read one chapter per day until I was finished with it, and then just absorbed all of the information that was in it. Which I think is always true of her books. They should be savored like a good wine, and not just inhaled like fast food. 

I’ve always read her books like that, and just pick one up when I feel called to do so. It has always worked perfectly for me that way, and I appreciate that. Normally when I enjoy a book, I want to binge read all of it to get it finished. But with hers, I always take my time to really enjoy and absorb everything in it, and the meaning of it, as well as the messages inside. 

Final Thoughts on Spiritual Lighthouse 

I am calling Spiritual Lighthouse a five star read, because it is one that I will read again and return to. I’ve never read a dream diary before, but it is fascinating. 

If you need a great book to start the year off, I highly recommend anything and everything from Ann Marie Ruby.
